The Memory of Mexico
Words and Music by Missy Guthrie

CHORUS 1:
He rides the range with the sun in his face
Hears the songs the wind carries along with his grace,
Plays his guitar and his heart will reveal his call,
Of the memory of Mexico

VERSE 1:
She stood there in a whisper, he could hear over the rain
She beckoned to his spirit, when he heard her call his name
The truth that they found that night…words could never say
He asked her what her dreams were of she said she hopes one day

CHORUS 2:
She’ll ride the range with the sun in her face
Hear the songs the wind carries along with her grace,
Play her guitar and her heart will reveal her call,
Of his memory of Mexico

CHORUS 3:
On his way back- to his home and his ranch
As he looked out the window, the plane was beginning to land
Though so- far now apart yet- he couldn’t let go
Of her Memory of Mexico

VERSE 2:
Boarding again to return to his true love he found that night in the rain
She stood there in a whisper, he heard over his pain
She asked him what his dreams were of- he said he hopes today
Will be the one that you come home with me and forever stay

CHORUS 4:
Now they ride the range with the sun in their face
Hear the songs the wind carries along with their grace,
Play their guitar and their hearts will reveal their call,
Of their memory of Mexico
…………….yes their hearts now answer the call……of Mexico

ROCKING HORSE ROAD
Words by Vincent Ives Polden/Missy Guthrie
Music by Missy Guthrie

VERSE 1:
SHE HAD A TEAR IN HER EYE,
AS SHE WAS WAVING GOOD-BYE
TO THE PLACE SHE HAD ALWAYS KNOWN

SHE DIDN’T REALLY KNOW WHY
HER MOMMA SAID THAT JULY
“BABY, IT’S TIME TO MOVE ON”

AS SHE LOOKED OUT THE BACK
OF THE WINDOW, FROM THE RED TRUCK
THAT CARRIED THEM AWAY

SHE CRIED MOMMA I WANT
TO GO HOME TO THE SONGS
WE WERE SINGING YESTERDAY……

CHORUS:
TO ROCKING HORSE ROAD
WHERE A CHILD COULD ALWAYS FIND HER WAY

THAT PATH THAT LEADS TO THE TRUTH SHE BELIEVES
FROM THE STORYS HER MOMMA TOLD

WITH THE RHYTHM OF TIME AND THE JOURNEYS SHE’LL FIND
AS HER WORLD STARTS TO UNFOLD

JUST LIKE YESTERDAY SHE WILL FIND SOME WAY

BACK TO ROCKING HORSE ROAD

VERSE 2:
THEY MOVED INTO THE CITY,
SHE STILL GREW COUNTRY PRETTY,
IN A TOWN THAT WAS DIRTY AND COLD…

THE YEARS WENT ON BY,
SOMETIMES HER MOMMA WOULD CRY,
AS SHE DREAMED OF THE DAYS OF OLD

MOMMA PASSED AWAY,
FROM THAT WORLD COLD AND GREY,
SHE THEN MARRIED, NOW A CHILD OF HER OWN
SHE MADE AN HONEST DEMAND,
HER HUSBAND COULD UNDERSTAND,
SHE SAID BABY, IT’S TIME WE MOVE ON

CHORUS:
TO ROCKING HORSE ROAD
WHERE A CHILD COULD ALWAYS FIND HER WAY

THAT PATH THAT LEADS TO THE TRUTH SHE BELIEVES
FROM THE STORYS HER MOMMA TOLD

WITH THE RHYTHM OF TIME AND THE JOURNEYS SHE’LL FIND
AS HER WORLD STARTS TO UNFOLD

JUST LIKE YESTERDAY THERE IS ALWAYS A WAY
BACK THERE TO ROCKING HORSE ROAD

VERSE/ENDING:
SHE HAD A TEAR IN HER EYE,
AS SHE WAS WAVING GOOD-BYE
TO HER MOMMA AS SHE FINALLY LET GO

ROCKING HORSE ROAD IS A PATH, I AM TOLD
WE GO DOWN WHEN WE WANT TO MOVE ON

WITH THE RHYTHM OF TIME AND THE JOURNEYS WE FIND
AS OUR WORLD STARTS TO UNFOLD
JUST LIKE YESTERDAYTHERE IS ALWAYS SOME WAY
TO ROCKING HORSE ROAD

You Are Home

Words and music by Missy Guthrie

VERSE 1:
Through that door you’re headed for… comfort that you know
That place today from a passageway started from some time ago
You know it by heart from the road where you have been, turn and then you’re back again…..

You are home

VERSE 2:
Where are your conscious thoughts or dreams while you sleep?
Maybe down some country road, or oceanfront over the deep
No mat-ter where you go, you are always there,
you’re residing from within….

You are home

CHORUS:
Wrap up in a blanket of your best Memories
They all hold the blueprints only you design
Warming fire within your heart has no boundaries
Flames of fondest yesterdays, burning to refine through time

VERSE 3:
All those cold nights you find your way again
Familiar lights from your mind’s eye, always wel-com-ing you in
Return to those comfort thoughts, they are always there,
deep inside you realize….

You are home

CHORUS:

VERSE 4:
Each step a milestone as each new season turned
Some-times lost, you walk alone, growing from these lessons learned
Your place of refuge, where you claim your peace,
through that door you will find….

You are home

My Dream
Words by Vincent Ives Polden/Missy Guthrie
Music by Missy Guthrie

VERSE 1:
It’s no secret I’ve been writing for years, chasing inter-demons and mental fears
Always wondering if I ever could, if I stood on stage would I be any good

The words would always jump out at me, three am writes were forever to be
A started song one minuet turns into an hour, while I hum the tune badly in the shower

VERSE 2:
I always wondered was I normal in writing and hearing the sounds
Scribbling like a child, trying to get it all down
Found myself hiding the very best part of me
Like time in a bottle somehow to set it all free

Then an unknown voice, alone but true,
Listened to what I wrote and believed in what I could do
She gave me wings in silence answered my prayers
Heard the music to my words just like it was there….

PRE CHORUS:
Still I never knew I could find the way to have the courage to stand up and say
“Hey this is me, and I’m ready to play these are my words, just words…anyway”

CHORUS:
I need to thank you for believing in me, thank you for setting my voice free
I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving my dream a place to start…

BRIDGE:
They say things happen for I reason I believe it’s true,
People meet the way God wants them to
This voice gave chance for silent words to be heard
Now they’re getting out there, soaring like a bird

PRE CHORUS:
And never in my wildest hopes or fears, after so many forgotten words over the years
Would I be so grateful to say….

CHORUS:
I need to thank you for believing in me, thank you for setting my voice free
I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving my dream a place to start…

My dream…..
